5/22/11 Cougars crowned state champs in 4x100 and 4x200 relays! Place 3rd in 200 and 6th in shuttle hurdle relay. MNW finished 5th in the team standings with 29 points. 5/13/11 Cougars win 5th straight state regional team title! Eight events and athletes qualify for state meet. Click here for state meet information. Results posted on sched/results page.

5/9/11 Cougars win South Central Calhoun Invite team title. Results posted on sched/results page.

5/3/11 Cougars win eight events at TLC meet and place second place in the team standings. Results posted on the schedule page. Ellie Herzberg claimed her second school this year by setting a new mark in the 200m dash (25.88).

4/28/11 Ellie Herzberg sets new school record in the 100m dash at Storm Lake! She ran 12.57 (converted from FAT) beating Lauren Christianson's mark of 12.64 set in 2008. The 1A Cougars finished third of eight teams including three 3a schools. Results on Sched/Results page.

4/26/11 Cougars win the Emily Markert Relays! Full results located on the sched/results page.

4/23/11 The 4x100 team has qualified for the Drake Relays and will run Friday at 5:30. They qualified 17th of 80 teams. Complete Drake heat and lane assignments can be found here.

4/22/11 Emily Markert Relays has been moved to the boys' relays on the 26th. We will run as a third division to this meet. This will also be senior recognition night. Revised entries are posted now on the Sched/Results page.

4/13/11 Results are now posted for the Algona varsity and jv meet held on April 12. The Cougars finished second in the team race to 3a Algona.

4/5/11 Results are now posted for the Prairie Valley meet held on April 5. MNW was edged out of the team title by three points. The Cougars won the 100, 200, 400 hurdles, and the 4x100 relay.

4/1/11 Cougars competed at the Ridge View Relays in Holstein on April 1. The team finished second among eight teams in true team scoring (an alternate method of scoring). First place medals were awarded to Sam Condon in the discus and Ellie Herzberg in the 100m. dash. The 4x200 and shuttle hurdle relays also placed first.

3/20/11 Cougars won two events at a very competitive BVU Indoor meet March 18 (18 teams). Ellie Herzberg won the 200m. dash and anchored the 4x200 relay team (A.Bush, J. Hamman, A. Markert, E. Herzberg) to first places. Sam Condon placed 2nd in the shot put and Herzberg placed 2nd in the 55m dash. The shuttle hurdle team (A. Jones, A. Markert, J. Hamman, E. Herzberg) placed second also. Ashley Markert placed third in the 55m. hurdles, Amanda Bush 4th in 200, and Caitlin Poppen jumped to a 5th place in the high jump.

5/27/2010 Cougars Win Four TLC and Region Team Titles in a Row!
The Cougars finished the 2010 season with a great state meet performance. The 4x100 relay (Morgan Markert, Ashley Markert, Kristine Condon, and Lauren Christianson) set a school record while sprinting to a state title. This state title is the fifth in the last three years, including four different events. Lauren Christianson placed in four events as she anchored the 4x100 and also placed third in the 100 m. hurdles, 6th in the 400 m. hurdles, and 6th in the shuttle hurdle relay (Jessie Hamman, Kristine Condon, Ashley Markert, Lauren Christianson). Eight Cougars (nine events) qualified for the 2010 state meet.
Lauren Christianson finished her MNW track career with three relay state titles (three different events). She placed ten times at the state meet and scored 812 points (MNW record) during her career.
The team won five meet team titles this year along with winning the state regional team championship for the fourth straight year and winning the TLC team title four years consecutively!
The following qualified for the 2010 state meet: Lauren Becker (Discus - Sprint Medley), Amanda Bush (4x4), Lauren Christianson (100H, 400H, SH, 4x1), Kristine Condon (SH, Sprint Med., 4x1), Jessie Hamman (SH, 4x2, 4x4), Kenzie Larson (4x2, Sprint Med., 4x4), Ashley Markert (SH, 4x2, 4x1, 4x4), Morgan Markert (LJ, 4x2, SprMed., 4x1).
