Manson Northwest Webster Preschool
Curriculum

The Manson Northwest Webster Preschool is available for families interested in early education opportunities for their children. The preschool program is curriculum-based, focusing on developmentally appropriate objectives and activities in the area of academic, emotional, and physical growth and development.
Orientation Day
In the fall a preschool Orientation Day is held to acquaint children and families with the teacher, the other children attending the same session, and the classroom setting. The visit lasts approximately one hour. If you are unable to attend, please arrange for another person to bring your child to the preschool room and to collect the additional preschool information.
Eligibility/Time/Cost
Children ages three, four, or five years of age on or before September 15th are eligible to attend the preschool.
- Four- year- old sessions meet Monday – Thursday from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. - Cost: $50 per month
- Three- year- old sessions meet once a week from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 Every Friday - Cost: $20 per month
All students must be potty trained to attend preschool. We understand that accidents happen occasionally. The school will contact parents if the child needs a change of clothing or should go home.
Tuition Payments
Tuition is due on the first session of the month. Parents may apply for free or reduced scholarships or reimbursements for transportation through Linking Families and Communities Empowerment. Please stop at the elementary office to pay your tuition. Our fees are very reasonable therefore missed sessions will not be compensated or refunded. Some months have more days which balance the lost days due to weather, in-service days, or other situations. Please follow the school calendar within the handbook. If we have changes in scheduled days, additional information will be sent home with the students.
Information Forms
Parents need to contact the elementary school to enroll their child in preschool. Information packets are sent in the fall during registration. Parents are asked to complete information forms and return them to the school. Please notify the school during the year if any information needs changing or updating. This information is essential to your child’s safety and well-being, allowing us to contact parents or emergency names quickly and accurately.
Delivery and Pick-up
An adult is required to deliver and pick-up children at the preschool classroom door. Do not park directly in front of the school. We have buses and the CATS bus using this area throughout the day. If you need to pick up your child during the school day or wish to visit the classroom, first stop at the superintendent or elementary office for a visitor’s badge. For the safety of our students and staff, you will be considered a stranger if you do not wear a visitor’s badge.
In the morning the preschool door will remain closed until 8:20 for four-year-olds and 8:50 on three-year-old days to provide time for the preschool teacher to complete her preparations. Please make arrangements for your child to arrive at the appropriate time.
For a minimal fee, the Calhoun County Transportation System (CATS) is available to transport your child to and from school. More information is available on Orientation Day or by calling 1-800-Bus-Ride.
Dismissal
At dismissal, please wait outside the preschool door until your child is excused from the classroom. If you have any changes in dismissal plans, please inform the preschool teacher in writing or through a phone call to the school office (712-469-3598). The teacher will dismiss your child to only the persons with written parental permission or if the elementary office has been notified. If you have any circumstances that the school should know in relation to your child’s safety or custodial care, please note on your parent information sheet or visit with the teacher or principal.
Snack
We offer a snack daily. A special grant provides milk for preschool students. Please send a healthy non-perishable food for the students to share during snack. The teacher will notify you when the snack supply needs to be replenished. You are welcome to send a fun nutritious snack for birthdays, or on special holidays or occasions.
Handbook
Please read the Manson Northwest Webster Elementary Handbook to become familiar with procedures. We hope your child’s first school experience is exciting and positive. Feel free to visit with the teacher or principal if you have any questions or concerns.
