Cougars go undefeated in 2008, win TLC Meet, Regional Meet, and earn two state championships!

The 2008 season finished with great success at the State Track Meet.  Two state titles were earned.  Kelsey Sukovaty won the shot put championship by beating her old school record toss by two feet!  The 4x400 team (M. Schreier, K. Rasch, K. Larson, L. Christianson) ran to a state title by cutting off 12 seconds off their season best time.  This relay beat all teams in Class 1a, 2a, 3a and finished fifth overall to earn all-state honors.  Kelsey also earned all-state honors with her shot put distance, placing sixth among all classes. The 4x100 relay team (M.Schreier, K.Sukovaty, K.Condon, L. Christianson) also placed at the State Meet running to a new school record and an 8th place finish.

The Cougars won the team championship in all meets completed in 2008 to go undefeated.  Two of these meets included the Twin Lakes Conference Championship and also the State Regional Meet. Kelsey Sukovaty was invited to throw the shot put at the Drake Relays.  The 4x100 relay team qualified also.

Ten girls qualified in eight different events for the state track meet including the following:

Kristine Condon – Shuttle Hurdle, 4x1
Jessica Kolar – Shuttle Hurdle

Kenzie Larson – Sprint Medley, 4x2, 4x4
Ashley Markert – Shuttle Hurdle, Sprint Medley
Morgan Markert – Sprint Medley
Alyssa Miller – 800

Kirsten Rasch – Sprint Medley, 4x2, 4x4
MacKenzie Schreier – 4x1, 4x2, 4x4
Kelsey Sukovaty – SP, Shuttle Hurdle, 4x1


Five school records were broken including the following:

100 Meter Dash – 12.64 – Lauren Christianson
